Cause We Can: For the Benefit of the Victims of Yolanda

The entire senior staff of arkadymac.com (comprised of me and … just me) went out to cover Cause We Can at the Event Center of SM Fairview last weekend.   It was a fundraiser for donations to be sent to victim of Super Typhoon Yolanda which had affected thousands in the Visayas.  Organized by Cosplay.ph, it was an event to show that cosplayers and the rest of the otaku community can help and contribute to a good cause.

There was a program held in the afternoon which included some games and some features.  The highlight of course was the Cosplay Catwalk Competition where the cosplayers amazed the crowd with their craftsmanship of armor and cloth as well as their exciting performances.

Aside from the competitors, there were lots of costrippers too who had a great time mingling with the crowd, having their pictures taken with the children and the grownups who appreciate their cosplays.

It was a short event compared to the others I’ve been too but it was still quite a fun event and the cosplay community got to show again that they would like nothing better than to use their skills to help out and be of service to others.
