Everyone’s excited about NexCon, the ultimate celebration of all things science fiction and fantasy. It’s one of biggest gatherings of genre fans and creators from the Philippines and beyond, and it will be happening this coming May 16 to 17, 2015, at a fresh new venue at SMX Convention Center Taguig, SM Aura, Taguig City. On its second edition after a successful inaugural event at the Bayanihan Center last year, NexCon 2: Heroes Rising will be the ultimate gathering of superhero, sci-fi and fantasy fandoms in the Philippines. Whether you like Marvel or DC, Star Wars or Dr. Who, this event will definitely have something for you! Villains Tremble as Fandoms Assemble!
The NexCon general pass is P250 per day. This gives you access to the exhibitors’ area and the main stage. The panel discussions in the Activity Area have an additional ticket cost of P250 per panel. There will be many exciting activities slated for NexCon 2, which include NexCon’s Take Cover competition, where one can unleash their cosplay photography skills and join to get a chance to win 3k worth of cash and prizes. Meet the faces behind the voices as NexCon 2: Heroes Rising presents “Tagalize This!” a special panel featuring veteran dubbers Noel UIrbano (“Batibot,” “Encantadia,” “Kokey,” “Zaido”) and Louie Paraboles (“Supernatural,” “Rurouni Kenshin,” “Transformers”). Get to know them as they share stories behind what goes into Tagalizing our favorite TV shows, films, and cartoons. And as a special treat, our guests will also do a “live dub” of a beloved British sci-fi TV show! Moderated by former NU107 DJ (and uber-geek) Cyrus the Virus
Cosplay remains a solid mainstay at NexCon, so get ready for battle at Cosplay Rumble, a Western-format cosplay contest focusing on Science Fiction and Fantasy fandom, characters from TV shows, movies, comic books, traditional literature and video games, either as an individual as a group, for the chance to win some really big cash prizes.
Real life imitates art imitating real life as Hank Sparrow sits down for a crazy chat with Trese creators Budjette Tan and Kajo Baldisimo. More otherworldly things will ensue, so you better be there!
Tux Teach by Tux Team will be an exciting discussion about cosplay photography, and it will be a free panel happening on Day 2 of NexCon. An excellent photo shoot can make a cosplay timeless, but you don’t have to break the bank to do it. Tuxedo Team members Jin (behindinfinity), Miguel – merkymerx, and Reskiy will be on hand to discuss art direction, production design, and photography. Audience members can also join in a scene reenactment photo! Tuxedo Team is a cosplay group known for their cinematic photoshoots that look like they leapt straight off the big screen. Their most famous work is their Big Hero 6 series, which went viral and was featured on sites like BuzzFeed, Kotaku, and Comicbook.com.

Please also note the entrance to the activity area where special panels including the Tales from the Diabolical and the Tagalize This! will happen. All other activities including Lip Sync Kombat, Master Debater, Cosplay Rumble, Cosplay Masquarade, Geek Fight and Tux Teach by Tux Team will happen in the Main Stage.
