On the occasion of its 40th anniversary, Voltes V Run Manila 2018 commemorated the beloved anime that spanned many decades of devoted viewership in the country.  Voltes V has become of the lives of several generations of Filipinos, becoming even more popular here than it was in Japan, and it brought together fans in a healthy and lively event at McKinley West, Bonifacio Global City on February 10, 2018.

The race had registered runners crossing a specially themed route, designed to make fans immersed into the world of their favorite anime series.

Along with the running event, fans and participants got to experience a very special programs at the venue, including a performance from the original singer of the opening song entitled, “Voltes V no Uta,” Ms. Horie Mitsuko.  A karaoke competition was also held, with five talented finalists battling it out to impress the audience and the judges.  The winner was Hino Fujiwara, who got to take home 20,000 pesos in cash.  After the awarding, the finalists got to join Ms. Horie Mitsuko in a special song number that they won’t soon forget.

 

Throughout the day, the many sponsors were having games and activities and were giving away a lot of freebies to the delight of the participants.

There were also a lot of attractions to keep everyone delightfully occupied.
