Joey The Anime Man and Aki Dearest Meet & Greet


Aki and Joey were pleasantly surprised at the turnout of their ‘kind of impromptu’ Meet & Greet held at the SM Megamall Bowling alley lobby. Fans eagerly waited in line to ask for autographs, photos and give them gifts. We’re posting here unedited and mostly stolen shots, just for documentation. Thanks for visiting, Joey and Aki! 🙂

TsuNAMICon 2017 at Philippine Normal University

 

Celebrating the local studentry’s love and admiration for Japanese culture, TsuNAMICon 2017, held at Philippine Normal University in Manila, got to showcase the colorful variety and burning passion of Filipinon enthusiasts from all over the metro earlier this year.  Organized by PNU NAMI, a university organization that bridges both Filipino and Japanese culture together, TsuNAMICon 2017 featured a festival of creativity and talent, highlighted by wonderful performances. attractions and contests.  arkadymac.com is their official media partner, and we are happy to bring you our coverage of their event.

Cosmic Con 2017 at Ayala South Park

 

Held over two straight days at the new and upscale Ayala Malls South Park, Cosmic Con 2017 got to treat hundreds of pop culture enthusiasts to a showcase of sights, sounds and excitement, with lots of features, attractions and special guests in store for attendees.

Bataan Anime Convention 2017

 

A fun and promising Japanese pop culture event up north  took place last  May 7, 2017 at Bataan Anime Convention 2017 at the Pilar Convention Center (LTO), Ala-uli, Pilar in Bataan.  It got to be an interactive convention where con-goers and guests were free to get to know each other as they even got to wear name tags at the event for other people to get to know them by.  With special guest cosplayers Eiri Mina, SUZUME, Irumi, Gibs and Saber Reinana headlining the event, Bataan Anime Convention 2017 was nothing less of an engaging event for everyone in the north who love anime, cosplay, and Japanese pop culture.

Cosplay Carnival 2017: Day 1

 

Come one, come all as Cosplay Carnival is back in town for its second straight year. Lots of activities, merchandise, contests, and special guests like Haoge and Alodia Gosiengfiao, were there for everyone to see.  This activity-filled event’s first day was held at SMX Convention Center, Function Room 5 last March 25.

Hear My Heartbeat: The YOICONPH2017 Pre-party

 

Yuri on Ice fans from all over the country definitely made history as a couple hundred of them converged at Hear My Heartbeat: The #YOICONPH2017 Pre-party last March 10, 2017 at the skating rink of SM Megamall.  Being one of the very first anime-themed events on an Olympic-sized skating rink in the Philippines, if not the world, fans got to skate and live out the experience from last year’s smash anime hit, with a terrific program and some nice prizes for attendees.

Mystic Messenger Fans Day RFA Party X Valentine Matsuri

 

A special gathering for fans organized by fellow fans brought their favorite game to life as Loving Rainbow Garden Events presented Mystic Messenger Fans Day: RFA Party X Valentine Matsuri just a while back.  Based on the wildly popular visual novel game Mystic Messenger from South Korea developed and published by Cheritz, this event was well attended as it gave fans an entire day to live out their fantasies and revel in the joy that the game has given them at the idyllic setting of Loving Rainbow Garden in Quezon City.

An enchanting evening of mystery and grandeur marked the very first Moonlight Masquerade at Loving Rainbow Garden in Quezon City.  This intimate affair with offered something for everyone as attendees were treated like royalty with attractions that have never been seen in any event the cosplay community has ever seen before.

Mocha Uson Made into Playable Character in CrossFire with Project Mocha

 

As a tribute to the Filipinos passion for gaming, Smilegate of GBPlay/Gameclub presented Project Mocha to the press just recently at SMX Convention Center at SM Aura.  Project Mocha brings the likeness of popular dancer/model/blogger Mocha Uson into the phenomenal online first-person shooter online game CrossFire, and the new character skin will initially be made available exclusively to Filipino gamers, setting another milestone as Filipinos make their mark in the digital world.

Chinese New Year 2017 at Binondo

 

Already a yearly tradition for us, the arkadymac.com coverage team went to Binondo, Manila to welcome the Year of the Fire Rooster amid frenetic dragon and lion dances, bright lanterns, loud firecrackers, spectacular fireworks, and, more importantly, Chinese delicacies you’d only get to enjoy on that particular day.
