Cosplayers have always looked to superheroes for inspiration.  More than just their fabulous, colorful and flashy costumes, superheroes exude the many admirable qualities and aspirations of humanity, things that cosplayers also emulate when they portray their favorite heroes.  But this time, cosplayers and artists won’t be the one doing the imitating, they will be the ones creating their very own superheroes as DV Tech Media Corp., along with their partners, present Project X,  the search for new Pinoy superheroes with an astounding 150,000 php top prize.

Comic Con Asia 2018 Press Conference

Upcoming Event: RE/PLAY Dance Edit

 

The local scene for performance and the arts starts off in spectacular fashion this January as MNLLikha x Sipat Lawin Ensemble, in collaboration with Offsite Dance Project (Japan),  present “RE/PLAY Dance Edit,” at the Power Mac Center Spotlight, Circuit Lane, Circuit Makati, on January 13 and 14 at 7pm. This production brings together dance artists from the Philippines, Japan and Cambodia to create a version of the work especially for Manila audiences.

AsiaPOP Comicon Manila 2017 will be Asia’s Biggest Pop Culture Convention

Top Dancers from Across Asia to perform in Manila at DANCE DANCE ASIA

 

 

Top dancers from across Asia will be performing an exciting collaborative street dance show in Manila at DANCE DANCE ASIA on April 28, 2017 (Fri) 8:00pm and April 29, 2017 (Sat) 3:00pm at the Teresa Yuchengco Auditorium, De La Salle University, Manila, FREE Admission for everyone.

Film Students from Asia Gather in the Philippines to Co-produce Short Films

 

Another breakthrough in friendship and cooperation between countries awaits as The Japan Foundation Asia Center and the University of the Philippines Film Institute will be holding an exchange program for film students in Asia entitled …and Action! Asia #03 in the Philippines from February 26 to March 10, 2017, in cooperation with Ateneo de Manila University and De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde.  Here, nineteen film students from the Philippines, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia will come together and co-produce short films within an eight-day production schedule in Quezon City.

Otaku Asia Magazine Features Extreme Moments 5 Cosplay Shoot

 

Otaku Asia Magazine  has been one of the leading printed publications for the Filipinos who are fans of anime and the Japanese culture, and they have been very supportive of the local cosplay community, even more so with their feature Extreme Moments 5 out-of-town cosplay photoshoot held in the historic island of Corregidor late last year.  Their Issue#37 will be the first of the year, and it will be showcasing the great work of some of the most talented cosplayers and photographers in the country.
