TsuNAMICon 2017 at Philippine Normal University

Upcoming Event: Natsu Matsuri, A Japanese Summer Festival at Ateneo on March 31

 

Summer is almost here, and what better way for lovers of Japanese culture to welcome the season than to enjoy a fun-filled festival.  Coming this March 31 is Hinomoto’s Natsu Matsuri: A Japanese Summer Festival at Ateneo de Manila University’s Bellarmine Field.  With free entrance to to the event, everyone can get to experience a traditional Japanese summer festival through fun games, great food, and exciting live performances.

MATA Expo 2017 Press Conference at Plantation Bar in Makati

 

Mata Expo will be coming back to the Philippines after three successful events in the country, the last one being in Cebu last year.  This unique event celebrates cultural diversity through a trade show with exciting features and attractions, and once again it will open its gates at One Esplanade SM Central Business Park this coming  weekend, February 4, 2017.  A press conference was held recently at The Plantation Bar in Makati to unveil the many great things in store for all attendees.

The biggest pop culture event in Asia had landed in Manila and was unstoppable on its third straight day as AsiaPOP Comicon Manila 2016 welcomed thousands of attendees from all over the world.   Spanning the entire SMX Convention Center at the Mall of Asia Complex, the scale that APCC 2016  was on was mindblowing, and on its second straight year it had an impressive lineup of guests and unique attractions from around the world for attendees to enjoy, bringing the latest and hottest trends, activities, and attractions pop culture had to offer. The long wait was over but the excitement had just begun as AsiaPOP Comicon Manila 2016 finally opened its doors to the public for the first time last Friday.  Spanning the entire SMX Convention Center at the Mall of Asia Complex, APCC 2016 will definitely be the biggest pop culture event the country has seen, with an impressive lineup of guests and unique attractions from around the world for attendees to enjoy.

Extraordinary artists gathered from all over the world got to show what exciting things are in store for fans of pop culture this weekend as AsiaPOP Comicon Manila 2016 held its press conference at the luxurious 5-star Hilton Conrad Hotel at the Mall of Asia Complex.  Presented to the media were APCC’s special guests, world-renowned cosplayer Alodia Gosiengfiao, comic book veterans Whilce Portacio, Ken Lashley, and Mike Zeck, along with exceptional artists Jason Palmer and Shinichiro Kitai from DEVILROBOTS, all thrilled to meet fans and enthusiasts from all over this weekend.

Hiyaw: A Cultural Night, Japanese School Festival Style at UP Diliman

The Japanese exchange students from the UP International Center got to share fun, colorful and interesting aspects of their culture as they opened  Japanese Night 2016 to the public last weekend at their residence in UP Diliman Campus.  This year the students have chosen “furusato”(ふるさと) as their theme, literally meaning “hometown.” The word invokes a sense and feeling of nostalgia among the Japanese, as it brings to mind fond memories of family and friends there, and they wish to impart those feelings with their Filipino friends through unique activities, food and attractions.

Get the chance to experience the fun, colorful and interesting aspects of Japanese culture for free as Japanese exchange students of the University of the Philippines Diliman will be having their official annual event, JAPANESE NIGHT 2016 “FURUSATO” on the 12th of February 2016, at the UP International Center. Already on its 11th year, Japanese Night  aims to promote cultural exchange of Japan and the Philippines through food and cultural activities, and everyone is invited, free admission, to this exciting event.
