#TheBigWave at PNU: Tsunamicon 2018

Ready for 2018?  This year’s first Japanese pop culture event was TsuNAMIcon last January 6.   It was organized by PNU NAMI with the theme “Bijutsu at Sining: Expanding the Horizon of JaPinoy Arts,” held at the  Philippine Normal University Quadrangle.

Globe Telecom and MET To Introduce the Country’s Largest Multi-Title Esports League

Local esports starts off the year with exciting news as MET, Southeast Asia’s #1 esports tournament organizer, has partnered with Globe Telecom, the Philippines’ #1 mobile brand, to produce the Globe Philippine Pro Gaming League (PPGL) 2018.  The Globe PPGL 2018 will be a nationwide esports tournament featuring major esports titles across multiple gaming platforms: Dota 2 (desktop), Tekken 7 (console), and a mobile game soon to be announced.

Set to be the largest multi-title esports league in the Philippines, the Globe PPGL 2018 will be a milestone for the country’s esports industry and marks the beginning of a new era of esports entertainment in the country.

Upcoming Event: RE/PLAY Dance Edit

 

The local scene for performance and the arts starts off in spectacular fashion this January as MNLLikha x Sipat Lawin Ensemble, in collaboration with Offsite Dance Project (Japan),  present “RE/PLAY Dance Edit,” at the Power Mac Center Spotlight, Circuit Lane, Circuit Makati, on January 13 and 14 at 7pm. This production brings together dance artists from the Philippines, Japan and Cambodia to create a version of the work especially for Manila audiences.
