The cosplay community was in for a ghoulish treat at IOP 10, or Invitational Otaku Urule Photoshoot 10, the latest in a long-running series of photoshoots for cosplayers and photographers alike. This edition had the delightfully different theme of Zombie Apocalypse, something that most cosplayers couldn’t pass up on. Although the staff wasn’t able to come personally, we are grateful for the generous assistance of our friends who lent us their great photos as they covered the event. Organized by Otaku Urule, a student-based organization which promotes Japanese pop culture in the country, more than a hundred cosplayers, photographers and enthusiasts alike trooped to PUP Sta. Mesa Campus with earnest expectations of having a fun and memorable day with each other, with the only rule being: to have fun, meet friends, respect one another, and enjoy.
Originally scheduled October 30, Sunday, IOP 10 was rescheduled to October 29, Saturday because the campus was to be used by the COMELEC for the Barangay elections. Although there were those who could not come anymore because of the change in date, the turnout was still quite good and everyone’s help and cooperation made this IOP another successful one. This wouldn’t have been possible if not for the able, courteous and experienced staff of Otaku Urule, who made sure the event ran as smoothly as possible for all the participants. Looking forward to the next IOP.
