Pioneer Films and Magic 89.9 bring the first of the two-part live action movie adaptation of wildly popular Japanese manga and anime series Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan) to Philippine cinemas this August 12, 2015, with an advance screening yesterday, August 11, 2015 at SM Megamall Cinema 2. The movie has long been awaited by SNK fans who have been looking forward to seeing it ever since its production was first announced in Japan way back October 2011.
Joining us in covering the event are our Cosplay Model Ai Chi and our Coverage Partner Jillian who both have been excited to get the chance to take a glimpse into what has been the year’s most anticipated movie by fans of Japanese pop culture.
Outside the theater, there was a display featuring the Scouting Legion’s uniform including the 3DMG(ODMG) as well as a peek into the fascinating world where Attack on Titan takes place.
With the advance screening set at 8pm, a considerably long line had already appeared early into the evening as the excited guests waited for the gate to open.
The organizers and sponsors prepared a short program before the movie began which involved giving away lots of prizes. The first one was looking for stickers under the seats, with those finding them winning some great prizes courtesy of Goldilocks Bakeshop. Citi then gave away digital photo frames to those with fast wits and fast feet participating in “Bring Me” and trivia games, our Coverage Partner Jillian winning a prize.
After the film, those who got to watch the movie stayed around to talk about the movie and to take photos with the displays.
We would like to thank Pioneer Films for bringing the movie to Philippine shores and AMUSE Philippines for accommodating us at the premiere.
Attack on Titan will be shown in cinemas nationwide starting August 12. This film will be in Japanese audio with English subtitles. MTRCB Rating R-16.
