The biggest spectacle of cosplay in the country has reached its biggest milestone to date.  Cosplay Mania has become the premier cosplay and J-culture event in he Philippines last  September 29-30, 2018 at Halls 1, 2 and 3 of the SMX Convention Center Manila.  For all those in attendance, it definitely was an extravaganza that is 10 years in the making.

Since 2008, Cosplay Mania has grown to become one of the most anticipated events in the Philippines with groundbreaking content, talented voice actors, stage actors, music artists and special guests from Japan, Star Cosplayers from around the world and the most spectacular stage shows.

This year, Star Cosplayers Emperor Cosplay and Astarohime from Russia, Hakken from Malaysia and Ola Aphrodite from Indonesia delighted Filipino fans in Meet and Greet sessions as well as special appearances. 2.5D Stage Actors Hiroki Ino and Kousuke Asuma left a strong impression on the Filipino audience and were welcomed warmly by fans.  In addition, Voice Actors Chiharu Sawashiro and Shunsuke Takeuchi thrilled the Cosplay Mania audience with their skill and wit, as shown by the screams and cheers of their many Filipino fans..

Composer and author DJ SunaP and Video Producer DJ29MEAT got to perform at the EX Stage and sent the SMX rocking with everyone in attendance moving to the groove.  In the evening of both days, a jaw-dropping concert known as Cosplay Mania JAM (Japanese Anime Music) was unleashed on the SP Stage. The concert featured Japanese talents AiRI and Zwei as well as Megumi Nakajima and fhána, giving out exhilarating, once-in-a-lifetime performances in front of an ecstatic and appreciative Filipino audience.

There were of course a number of Cosplay Contests that featured the extraordinary talent of Filipino cosplayers from all around the country, like Cosplay Masquerade, Cosplay Solo Showdown, Cosplay Mania Cup and the Ultimate Cosplay Championship, all a whopping prize pool of P250,000 worth of cash and prizes for the winners.

All in all, Cosplay Mania delivered well on its promise of putting on the best show in recent memory, showing why it has indeed become an institution in Philippine cosplay.  Our congratulations and our thanks for bringing quality content to Filipino fans and enthusiasts everywhere.
