There was no bigger celebration for the Filipino’s love for anime than the exciting return of Anime Idol Convention last January 17, 2026, at Bayanihan Center, Pasig City. AICon 2026 was an incredible opportunity for lovers of anime idols to take the spotlight and shine on a spectacular stage surrounded by fellow fans.
As the Philippines’ very first anime idol convention, AICon 2026 again delivered an exhilarating one-day event, filled with cosplayers, idol otaku, artists and exhibitors showing their love and enthusiasm for their oshi and meeting fellow fans.
Already an established event spanning many years, AICon has been organized by Pygmalia, a group of creative and enthusiastic fans who wanted create fun experiences for other fans. AICon, is a one-day convention that started in 2019 that has aimed to gather anime idol fans and enthusiasts in the Philippines. The idea is due to the high demand of an idol convention as the Philippines that warmly welcomes idol otaku as part of its otaku culture.
The festivities at AICon 2026 continued to highlight dance and vocal talents as well as visual categories, filled with exciting performances and panels for every idol fan and enthusiast to enjoy, led by phenomenal hosts Naru and Korin. Amazing performances have become the lifeblood of AICon over the years, and there have been no shortages in musical and visual entertainment on stage as part of the various contests and categories.
As AICon drew to a close, it came time for the awarding of all the winners of the various contests, culminating a truly fulfilling day for anime idol fans.
