Come one, come all to the newest cosplay event of the year, Cosplay Carnival 2016!! This will be a 2-day event filled with exciting activities that highlights some of the many fascinating aspects of cosplaying. It aims to entertain cosplayers who have been around for years while welcoming new ones to this exciting hobby. It will be held on February 20-21, 11am to 9pm at Function Room 4 of the SMX Convention Center at SM Mall of Asia.
Kirisaki 2.0 will be a special guest during the event. She is a renowned cosplayer from Singapore who has been featured in Cosplay Gen and Cosmode and also the captain of A-Live, an outstanding Love Live! cover dance group. She will be selling her photobooks and posters and autographing them. She also has a special dance number featuring favorite Love Live! u’s music prepared for the event.
Along with Kirisaki 2.0 is Rainer Tachibana! She is a celebrated cosplayer known for her amazing video game renditions especially from the Final Fantasy and Dynasty Warriors. Like Kirasaki, she has been featured in as well Cosplay Gen and also websites such as GamesRadar. Her amazing cosplays as well-loved video game characters have gotten her well known.
Aside from the line up of guests, this event has several contests and activities for cosplayers to compete and engage in.
Competitions include Cosplay OTP, Cosplay Group Dance Battle, and Cosplay Karaoke. Their solo cosplay contest has a unique twist: you have to tag the person next in a unique and fun way.
Special activites include Cosplay Storage War, Fan Fair, Yoshinoya Gyudon Eating Contest, Sumo Showdown, Cosplay Out-of-the-Box, and Cosplay Con quest. You can sell your items and bid on others, showcase your fan art and doujins, eat tons of gyudon for free, sumo wrestle a friend, and pose in a box.
They will also be announcing the Cosplay Costume of the Year winner. Cosplay pictures were nominated on their facebook page. After that, people get to vote by liking the picture. Vote for the winner here!!!
