Going strong on its second day of its 8th successful year, BoA, The Best of Anime, once again treated Japanese pop culture fans and enthusiasts of anime, cosplay, and music from all over the world to a spectacular event at the SMX Convention Center at the SM Mall of Asia Complex.  With a well-known and greatly admired cast of special guests from international cosplay and music set to appear and perform in front of Filipino fans, the stage was set for BoA 2017, one of the biggest anime-themed conventions in the country to date.

The Best of Anime has long been a much-anticipated event by fans and enthusiasts in the community, evidenced by the almost 30,000 visitors who have eagerly attended “The Best of Anime’s” showcases and attractions, which include an impressive roster of talents, cosplayers, activities, and much more.

This year, international cosplayers Reika, Yuegene Fay, and Liu & Hana showcased their talents and skills at cosplay on and off stage for their many Filipino fans, judged the contests, as well as indulged fans in engaging meet and greet sessions.

Fantasy idol group STARMARIE made up of Nozomi, Shino, Monya, Hiroka and Kaede have been regular and much-awaited performers at Best of Anime, and this year they were out to thrill and enthrall their Filipino fans once again with their tireless, enigmatic performances.

Topping off these amazing list of talents is one of Japan’s foremost bands SPYAIR, which has a big and active base of fans locally, and they performed live in the Philippines for the very first time.  It was an expreience Manila won’t soon forget.

Highly-anticipated activities during the event include the different competitions like the very exciting BoA Inter-School Cosplay Competition Championship.

Cosplayers have always been supportive of Best of Anime, and they came in full force in colorful and creative costumes to partake in the festivities.

The day ended with the Awarding Ceremonies, where winners from of the various contests were finally announced by the judges.  They all got to take home some huge prizes for their astounding efforts.  The various partners zand sponsors who helped make Best of Anime 2017 a success were also acknowledged and awarded onstage.
