On March 20, 2022, Otacute’s AniSong Festival 2022, an event for all J-pop enthusiasts, was hosted in Laperal Activity Hall at Youniversity Suites in Metro Manila. Fans and debuting idols are thrilled and enthusiastic about the anticipated event, but as the pandemic is still ongoing, they have to prepare safety protocols for the people attending so everyone can enjoy themselves safely!
As the event was about to begin, the Idols arrived early to practice their performance on the stage. They have been very energetic and full of life. It shows how they have been preparing for this moment for days, and finally they are here to show their talents to their beloved fans.
The fans finally arrived to watch their adored idols, and more people who were curious about the J-pop culture joined the event, the event was open for everyone as Otacute allowed walk-ins for people to enjoy and experience the event. After a long wait, the hosts, Ms. Geneva and Ms. Azumi, finally arrived to start the event at the stated time of 12 noon! They started the event with their lively voices, greeting everyone good afternoon along with their lovely smiles. Thus, the event began to start.
The first idol group to perform was the debuting group, Bella6ix. Their performance was indeed refreshing as the opening act that has yet to be followed by the following groups. The groups that are next to perform are Pepper Keibu, Poly V, Hibana Wotagei, DJ Zeroblade, Ivy! Musume, AiDreamin!, Day Night Explorers, and finally Arin Gilli.
Almost all of the idols made the event their debut performance, and I was amazed at how each of one them was gleaming with joy. It’s clear from their expressions that they’re ready for it, and their performance is just the tip of the iceberg.
Each of their performances got the audience in awe, and as a J-pop enthusiast myself who has experienced an Idol event for the first time, I was truly amazed and thrilled to be part of AniSong.
Just as the event was coming to an end, DJ Zeroblade invited everyone to the main floor to dance and sing to their favorite Japanese songs, whether it was from an opening of an anime or from an Idol group. I danced along with the hosts, idols, and fans. It was really fun and the best way to complete the event.
In addition, There are also a few booths that are there, some are the idols’ booths that sell their prints, and some sell anime merchandise and figurines. Also, even though it’s an idol event, several of the people who came were cosplaying as various anime characters!
Although the event ended earlier than expected, everyone headed into the maid café, where all the maids welcomed us with a warm smile, and it truly felt like I was in a maid café in Japan! Everyone there was so pretty and kind. When we first enter they personally accompanied us to our seats, gave us a menu to choose our drinks from, and we get to pick a specific characteristic of the maid who would serve us. And when the drink arrived, the maid put a magical spell on our drink, which made the drink spectacular and delicious!
As the day was about to end, the Otacute team planned and surprised one of the founders of Otacute, Sir Kenzaburo Kobayashi. He was ultimately surprised and delighted and was also grateful to the team. After that, it was nearing 8 pm and the maids gave their last performance for their audience.
Thus, the event AniSong came to an end successfully, and everyone returned home with their hearts full. It was truly an enjoyable event for those who attended and were able to experience another side of Japanese culture. Mr. Matthew Vergel De Dios deserves credit for the beautiful photographs; he is a member of the cover group that was on site, along with the newest member, Ms. Anmu! It is Arkadymac.com’s pleasure to cover and be their official media partner for this highly anticipated event for J-Pop music enthusiasts.
