After a string of well-attended events in 2022, Ozine Fest ends the year with a fun twist for the community as it features a blast from the past with their 90s Retro Anime Event last December 26 to 27, 2022 at the Megatrade Halls of SM Megamall. Cosplayers, anime and pop culture fans and con-goers got to spend the holidays with a fun retro feel for the young and young at heart alike.
Ozine goes retro as cosplayers were encouraged to cosplay anime, game and pop culture characters from the past, and Ozine Fest threw in added perks for those who dressed up as characters or celebrities from the 90s. The community took the opportunity of course to oblige and cosplay with the theme in mind, like our Correspondent Rica cosplaying Daphne Blake from Scooby Doo fame.
Many attractions and activities were lined up for attendees with nostalgia-inducing 90s themes so that everyone can have fun reliving their early years. There was the 90s Anime Singing Contest that filled the event with nostalgic tunes from anime of the distant past, with the winners from both days receiving some very fabulous prizes.
Ozine Fest 90s Retro Anime Event also got to feature pet cosplay competitions on both days, with cats going on Day 1 and Dogs on Day 2. The audience was amused to no end with the wonderfully creative ways the contestants cosplayed their pets on stage.
And of course there was the 90s Cosplay Competition which was a very anticipated contest of retro characters. We are proud to have our members Anmu, Nicolette and DK as judges for the competition with Sharivan, which was not an easy task as many wonderful and talented cosplayers showed their skill in engaging and creative performances, much to the delight and cheers of an appreciative audience.
Live bands and performers treated the audience with songs from the 90s and added to the warm, nostalgic feel of the event.
There were also on-site attractions like the 90s anime scenes booths for fun photoshoots by cosplayers and congoers alike.
And of course there are the Cosplay and Artist alleys and merch booths and exhibitors provided the extended holiday shopping that everyone enjoyed.
And of course, arkadymac.com was there for the cosplayers, and we got to see a wonderful variety of 90s-themed cosplays which were refreshingly nostalgic.
Ozine Fest 90s Retro Anime Event has been an enjoyable community get-together as the year closed, and everybody is already looking forward to the events scheduled for next year, like Anime Fair and Otaku Expo. See you all there!
