According to the cosplay blogging community, just the mere mention of Alodia Gosiengfiao increases hits to any site tenfold. Wow. Just wow. Let’s try that while I get this article underway. Xtian Mack, fresh from his cosplaying exploits in Hong Kong (another way of saying “spreading terror in downtown Kowloon, Hong Kong by crazy tourist in ANBU mask,” or see my previous posts), gets to participate and cover the next major cosplay event this December. the Animax Carnival Philippines Cosplay Competition last December 9 at the Robinsons Place Manila’s Midtown Atrium in Malate, Manila.
As the predominant anime-dedicated network in the Philippines (aside from most other countries on the planet), Animax has been having these cosplay competitions all over Asia, first in Malaysia, Taiwan, and now it has reached Manila. The main draws of the Animax Carnival are the Ani-Mate host search and the Cosplay competition. Alodia Gosiengfiao gets to host the event and boy were the people riled up. Aside from the main contests, there were different game booths where participants get Animax goods and other fun prizes whether they win or lose in the games.
As much as I always expend a considerable amount of time, effort, sweat and tears agonizing over preparing these descriptions and write-ups for these cosplay events, I get the sinking feeling that nobody bothers to read them. Oh well. I don’t really care much. I just write to get some practice in anyway. Plus cosplay is more fun in the meantime. At least for now anyway.
