arkadymac.com is an official media partner for Otaku Expo Reload 2014 and we’re bringing you the action from this exciting two-day affair as we present our coverage of Otaku Expo Reload 2014 Day 2. Even more people than the day before got to drop by the event: congoers, cosplayers, hobbyists, enthusiasts, and just the curious trooped to SM Megamall Megatrade Hall 3 to take part in the festivities.
Joining us for this coverage are our correspondents and cosplay models: Jillian, Czyrah, Julia, Nicolette, Kaloy and Mina Kim. They too enjoyed bringing the action and were having fun having their photos taken by the crowd.
Highlighting Day 2’s event was the press conference and meet and greet session with prominent Hong Kong-based cosplayers Luffy and Tsubasa, who addressed the media at the Megatrade Conference Room. As a long-running cosplay couple, they made a great team as they joined in answering questions about cosplay, particularly cosplaying as a couple or a team. With their depth of knowledge and experience in cosplaying in their native Hong Kong, they shared great insights on how they get to cosplay well and how they enjoy cosplaying to the fullest. A short photo shoot was done with the press as they posed for the cameras in their pair cosplay of Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask.

Various attractions and events went on inside Magatrade Hall 3, with various games and performances, as well as the Battle of the Bands contest where groups performed Japanese songs for the audience. The highlight of the event came with the individual cosplay competition where 41 cosplayers performed in front of an enthusiastic crowd. In the end, Ian Quinto as Fujiko Mine, who gave a very amusing performance, got to take home First place, with June Aries Pascual taking Second Place and RB Cheng winning Third Place. They received some really nice prizes from the organizers.
The scene outside the hall was a bustling one as costrippers enjoyed having their pictures taken with the curious and appreciative crowd. We also enjoyed having shoots with them of course.
It was definitely a fun weekend for everyone at Otaku Expo Reload 2014, so we are grateful to the organizers for putting together a successful event as we eagerly await their next installment.
