The big wave was back as TsuNAMICON brought the enchanting world of Japanese school life last July 22, 2023 at the Philippine Normal University Quadrangle. Billed as TsuNamicon 2023 Soratobu: Soaring Beyond Boundaries and organized by PNU NAMI, the event was the most recent edition to a festival started way back in 2017, celebrating the vibrant and fascinating aspects of a Japanese school organization, culture, captivating performances, and amazing experiences of singing and cosplay.

Billed as TsuNamicon 2023 Soratobu: Soaring Beyond Boundaries, the event will be the latest edition to a festival started way back in 2017, celebrating the vibrant and fascinating aspects of a Japanese school organization, culture, captivating performances, and amazing experiences of singing and cosplays that will transport you straight to Japan!
Already on its sixth year of bringing the best show in cosplay in the country, Cosplay Carnival is finally back and it has taken attendees on an otherworldly adventure of epic proportions last April 1 and 2, 2023 at Function Rooms 3 to 5 of SMX Convention Center Manila. Always a yearly tradition and much awaited spectacle by the cosplay and anime community, Cosplay Carnival provided troves of entertainment and attractions to its legions of fans and patrons.
It was an enchanting festival that welcomed the summer as Natsu Matsuri 2023: Shinden brought together traditional and modern cultural scenes of Japan at Ateneo de Manila University’s Bellarmine Field last March 24. The last one being held way back in in 2019, Natsu Matsuri 2023 brought back the fun and excitement of Japanese-themed school events since the pandemic.
As summertime in the Philippines approached faster than we anticipated, Japanese culture enthusiasts were able to experience the return of Ateneo Hinomoto’s Natsu Matsuri. This summer festival was held last March 24 at the Bellarmine Field of Ateneo de Manila University. The last one was held back in 2019, so everyone was excited for the return of Japanese-themed school events since the pandemic struck and the easing of event restrictions.
