Miss Alodia Gosengfiao gets a very pleasant surprise as friends and loved ones throw her an unexpected birthday party at gaming hub Mineski Infinity. What she thought would be a simple afternoon for a game or two turned out to be a surprise event several weeks in the making by the people who love and admire her who came together to greet and wish her well on her special day.
This small celebration was organized by Eric Ejercito, with help from Alodia’s family, along with friends Alex, Lycka and Willy. One could imagine how difficult it is to keep a secret, especially one kept between many people, but the effort everyone put into organizing the many details of the party and coordinating the many individuals and groups involved in the affair was nothing short of incredible. With weeks of preparation on the line, everyone gathered that afternoon at the computer shop and anxiously waited for the celebrant to arrive, her boyfriend Eric with her and constantly coordinating with the team all throughout.
At the signal, the team and guests took their places with the banner and cake prepared as the lights were turned off. Then there was knocking at the door. Everyone just looked at each other as they weren’t sure if this was part of the “script.” The door then opened, and upon seeing Alodia, the group burst into greetings and song as Alodia’s eyes widened in surprise as she was smiling all throughout. She then put out the candles on her birthday cake and thanked everyone for the very warm greetings.
The celebrant admitted that she never saw it coming. She did wonder why Mineski was “closed” and that the shop was dark from the outside, and that when she got inside she wondered why all these people were there. She was happy of course that so many people came and took the time to do something special for her.
Part of the surprise was a DOTA 2 tournament held in honor of her birthday, one the celebrant herself was excited about as she got to take part in it with her team. The team she always got to play with online was invited, and it was the first time they all got to meet in the “real” world. They had fun competing with other teams made up of friends from the cosplay and gaming community. As there wasn’t enough time for a full tournament setup, the group with the most wins would be named champions.
With us on our coverage was our Correspondent and Cosplay Model Ai Chi, who got to be with the celebrant who was gracious with her time in talking to us and having some photos with us. This we really appreciate, as she did it for her guests despite her knee still recovering from a recent surgery.
Ai Chi also helped us interview the guests and organizers. She was delighted to get to meet the many great guests at that occasion.
Some cool prizes were given out in a raffle for everyone in attendance. As evening came, the tournament ended and great prizes courtesy of Razer, Gamex and Royal Hanbok were given out to the winners and Gamex Girls.
The celebrant needed to be at a dinner with family by then, so after a final round of thank yous, greetings, photos and selfies, Alodia left with her entourage, but everyone definitely had fun with the celebrant that day. Many thanks to Eric and the organizers for inviting us to be part of this affair. And to Miss Alodia, a very happy birthday to you, from all of us here at arkadymac.com, and wishing you all the best life has to offer and more.
