Bringing in even more fun and enjoyment to cosplay enthusiasts from all over, Cosplay Carnival remained a crowd drawer on its second exciting day.  This fun and fresh new event makes its debut just this year as it filled Function Room 4 of the SMX Convention Center with thousands of attendees on its first day, all wanting to to experience all the attractions, games, contests and surprises as well as meet international guest cosplayers headlining the event, Rainier Tachibana and Kirisaki.

Cosplay Carnival is a two-day cosplay-centric convention organized by cosplay.ph, who since last year have been conceptualizing an event  filled with exciting activities that highlight some of the many fascinating aspects of cosplaying, which aims to entertain cosplayers who have been around for years while welcoming new ones to this fascinating hobby.

Many had lined up early so that they could enjoy the event in its entirety.

Many fun activities were held throughout the day to the delight of the attendees. There was the Yoshinoya gyudon eating contest, Mogu Mogu dance and drinking contests, sumo wrestling, and cosplay con-quest.  Contestants and participants got to enjoy rice bowls, wrestle their friends while wearing sumo suits, and getting their con-quest card filled up.

Special guests for the event were Singapore-based cosplayers Rainer Tachibana and Kirisaki. Rainer Tachibana is well known for her video game cosplays while Kirisaki is the captain of Love Live! Dance group, A-Live. They both got to meet up with their fans and autograph their prints for them and take photos as well.

Throughout the event, Cosplay Storage Wars was held. This is where people got to auction off their old costumes and novelties. People got to take home these things and give them a new home.

The Cosplay Karaoke brought many talented cosplayer singers to the stage. A contestant would choose a random number that would correspond to a certain song. They then sang on stage will full of energy and spark, with surprising but nonetheless fabulous results.

Then there as the exciting Cosplay OTP, a solo cosplay competition with a fun twist.  Cosplayers take turns appearing on stage but had to perform a short performance with the cosplayers that went before and after them. The result of course were strange but nonetheless amusing moments.

Of course, there were many amazing cosplayers at this event. Cosplayers wore their best costumes and had their photos taken all day

Our friend Alecx and her friends were again helping out as Cosplay Medics at their booth. They were there to help cosplayers with any problems they might encounter. They came fully prepared with safety pins, make up, glue, and alligator clips. Everyone at the convention appreciated how helpful they are to the cosplay community.

Cosplay Carnival closed out with a bang with the announcement of the winners of the various contests that day, with the special guests helping out to call out the names and hand out the great prizes.

Even if it was just its debut, Cosplay Carnival lived up to expectations of providing a fresh and fun-filled event as it introduced some innovations that appealed well to attendees.  We congratulate them on a job well done.  We expect more as we look forward what other great things they can offer next year.
