With cosplay and anime events being churned out endlessly but with the same old content, it is encouraging to know that there are still those from the community who are willing to step up and offer something more relevant and closer to the heart of those who have long nurtured the passion for cosplay. Far from the usual mall venues where events have become all so common, Loving Rainbow Garden Cosplay Festival took a bold move in having a new but refreshing venue to accommodate those who had so much passion for cosplay and anime. The result was a fun new event that left everyone happy, fulfilled and pleasantly surprised.
Loving Rainbow Garden Cosplay Festival was conceptualized and spearheaded by Loki Heart, a seasoned cosplayer who has been in the community for many years. She tells us that she has long enjoyed and has long appreciated being in the cosplay community and has long thought of a way she can give back to it. Loving Rainbow Garden Cosplay Festival was then slowly brought together with the kind and generous help of other cosplayers and enthusiasts. It was to be at the very heart and organized by fellow cosplayers and individuals who have loved and have been in the community for many years. And for an entire weekend, this venture of love surprised everyone with a healthy attendance and zealous support.
Loving Rainbow Garden is a new but idyllic events venue in Tandang Sora Quezon City. Nestled in a quiet neighborhood, the place is proud of both indoor and outdoor locations for all manner of needs, from functions, events, gatherings, photoshoots, and a whole lot more, and everyone was certainly everywhere around the venue enjoying all it had to offer, be it during the day or at night.
Cosplay Festival promised to be the freshest breakthrough event of 2016, and it did deliver over two straight days at this new venue where an exciting program with special guests, bands, performers, contests, indoor and outdoor photoshoots, karaoke contests, auctions, workshops, film showings, booths, a cafe, and many other surprises were in store for attendees on both days. For only 100 pesos for the entrance fee, guests got to enjoy cosplay, anime, Jpop and Jrock to their hearts content at Loving Rainbow Garden Cosplay Festival.
Besides all the fun, enjoyment and prizes, what I was most impressed with with the event was the amount of personal interaction between the attendees and the special guests and performers. Everyone took the time to talk, get to know one another, share ideas, tell stories, take photos, and just enjoy each others company through their talents, their knowledge, and their shared passion, and this has been what has been lacking in many events of late. We are happy to see that cooperation, camaraderie and unity can still be achieved in the community, and we hope that Loving Rainbow Garden Cosplay Festival is the first step in the right direction.
