For the first time, Cosplay.ph organized a marketplace in SMX Aura, Taguig. The place had good facilities and the ambiance was quaint. It was helpful that they provided a map on how to get to the venue.
Publicity was done exquisitely. Posting of the program schedule, the special guest in the event, countdowns, and the ticket giveaway were good advertisement devices.
Ticket prices were affordable, making even the first-timers be able to go. Despite that fact, foot traffic wasn’t really good. Although patrons of Cosplay.ph still went despite the different location.
Sadly, some exhibitors find the event competitive. Direct competition of merchandise and artworks was undeniable. There seemed to be more artists than customers.
The event was pretty chill for the organizers, congoers, and exhibitors alike. However, there was not much of a “staying factor” in the event since the whole idea of it was a place for artists and art enthusiasts to explore artworks, fandoms, and merchandise—-basically an art fair. Most congoers would just roam the function room for about 3 laps, then leave.
The event was executed satisfactorily. Hopefully next time, they would pick a place that is more accessible and with heavier foot traffic, perhaps Bayanihan Center, or the usual SMX Convention Center, Pasay?
