The brand new year will be bringing in the very first major Japanese pop culture event of the year as Otaku Expo 2019 happens on February 2 and 3, 2019 at the Megatrade. An annually anticipated event, thousands of revelers are expected to come and enjoy the booths, games, bands and competitions for another fun year for anime fans, congoers and cosplayers alike.
This year it will be Otaku Expo Hearts Day Special 2019. As February is the month for Valentines, it was decided that this event be dedicated to couples, single people seeking romance or just the romantic-at-heart. Aside from the usual competitions, there will be activities, games and contests created for couples to feel the “love” in the air. But rest assured that the singles will not be left out as some of the activities are designed so that single people can mingle with each other and hopefully meet their future Valentines date. In addition, Chinese new year is just around the corner so there will also have festivities celebrating the Lunar year.
