Baguio once again becomes the center and hub cosplay and Japanese pop culture in the north as the most anticipated cosplay festival of 2019, brought to us by Curteanah Cosplay Events, is coming our way.

Today, Curteanah Cosplay Events, a well-known group specializing in cosplay events in the city, announced that they will be bringing back their yearly staple event entitled COSPLAY TANABATA 7: THE HARAJUKU PARADE. The event is to take place at Newtown Plaza Event Center on August 17-18, 2019.

Now on its seventh year, Cosplay Tanabata 7 offers its visitors a sneak peek of what Japan’s famous Harajuku Couture is like. The event’s first day will focus more on the cultural contests such as the BGO48 dance competition, Utanabata Singing Contest, Eating Contests, and Orihime and Hikoboshi Contest. As an addition to these staple contests, Curteanah Cosplay Events has partnered with the Philippine Gothic Lolita Community to host the first Harajuku Fashion Show in the city. The second day will be dedicated to the event fans’ all-time favorite segment–the Cosplay Competition, where competitors would flaunt well-crafted costumes on stage based from the anime or game of their choice.

The event also supports entrepreneurs who would want to cater to the cosplay niche. They target a number of 60 exhibitors comprised of merchandise, artist, and food booths to participate and supply the wants and needs of the event goers.

The event will be ending with a Mini JPop Dance Party for all, to thank the event goers for all the support the cosplay community has given the group for the past seven years.

Cosplay Tanabata 7 is Co-presented by Jellyfish Education Consultancy Inc. and AkiYumi; In partnership with The Philippine Gothic Lolita Community (PGLC) and Japanese Association of Northern Luzon, Inc. (JANL)
