Cosplay Mania 2022 Reignites Passion for Cosplay, J-Culture and J-Music
Despite a long silence and absence of two years due to the pandemic, the biggest cosplay and J-culture event in the Philippines makes its triumphant return as Cosplay Mania 2022 cam back live from Function Rooms 1-5 of the SMX Convention Center Manila. Touting its theme of “Re:Ignite your Passion,” this year’s CosMania was the most spectacular ever, with a multitude of attractions as well as prominent international and local guests got to delight and entertain fans from all over the world to this once-a-year event.
Having some of the biggest floor space in its history, Cosplay Mania 2022 got to deliver an extraordinary event to make up for the two years of silence. Indeed, CosMania got to feature amazing exhibitors and booths for merch, artwork, toys, collectibles, clothing, apparel, and many other items that may just be found once a year.
The biggest cosplay and J-culture event will boast of two huge contests with some of the biggest prizes ever, as Cosplay Mania Cup and Cosplay Karaoke will feature a furious battle of winners from previous Cosplay.ph events to really know who is the best of the best, the champion among champions over at the SP stage.
And over at the EX Stage, singing and cosplay contests like Hall Cosplay Masquerade got to fascinate fans as contestants showed off their skills and colorful costumes. We are proud to have our Correspondents Sabthulu, Raven and Rica as judges for this contest.
Special guest performers also got to excite the audience with their incredible dance numbers and interact with fans throughout the weekend, which included Seishun Kakumei, Festa, LoveSo, Mjuz Kiss, DNE, and Kiichan among others.
Cosplay Mania 2022 has long been known to bring in some of the biggest names in cosplay and in the industry, and this year is no exception as guest cosplayers Hiroto Kuramasu from Japan, Onnies and Thames Malerose from Thailand and Yosuke Sora from Singapore got to take part in the festivities.
Vtubers from Hololive Indonesia Ayunda Risu and Kureiji Ollie got to interact with their Filipino fans at their interview session on stage as well as their meet and greet sessions.
Prominent veteran voice actor Nozomu Sasaki was also be a special guest who got to address his Filipino fans virtually and got to answer questions from the hosts and the audience, as well as made fans happy through an autograph session.
And of course, the return of Cosplay Mania also marks the return of the biggest J-music concert in the country, the JAM Concert, and this year was a stellar one with sensational Vtubers Hoshinova Moona and Pavolia Reine performing, as well as the one and only Mindaryn bringing the house down with powerful performances as music lovers celebrated this rare opportunity.
Cosplay Mania has always been the biggest cosplay event in the country and it is evident with the thousands of cosplayers from all over the Philippines and beyond having the time of their lives with their best costumes and having fun with their friends and the broader cosplay community, and we were there for them of course and seeing the best, the funniest, the most striking, and the most outlandish costumes we’ve seen all year.
Cosplay Mania definitely was the biggest event for the community this year, with so many exhibitors, guests, performers, and attractions that will not be forgotten anytime soon. After the pandemic, Cosplay Mania had indeed made its successful comeback to the enjoyment of fans everywhere.
