Gamers from all over the country and beyond were whipped into a frenzy with the spectacular return of the biggest gaming event in the Philippines as ESGS is finally came back on-ground last October 28 to 30 at the SMX Convention Center Manila. The Electronic Sports and Gaming Summit 2022 was the phenomenal three-day premier gaming convention that fans have come to expect and adore, and it was filled to the brim with games, surprises, activities, merch, booths, loot, attractions and so many more.

Various game communities, fans and con goers trooped by the tens of thousands over its weekend run and got to happily partake in the different activities that ESGS had prepared. This year’s ESGS was held on-site at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, returning from the online space. For two years, ESGS was held virtually, keeping patrons engaged as #GamingNeverStops and #GamingIsLife. And this year, fans got to celebrate in grand fashion live at the venue.

ESGS’s much-awaited comeback got an even more spectacular boost with its partnership and collaboration with two of the most dynamic and innovative brands in gaming today: Globe and Riot Games, marking exciting firsts in ESGS history. Globe was ESGS 2022’s main presenter, while Globe Gamer Grounds co-presented Astra Arena, ESGS’s very own esports stage. It was #GameWellPlayed with Globe as fans and convention goers got to experience a lot of activities and surprises from Globe at their impressive booth. An Indie party by Globe and the Game Developers Association of the Philippines (GDAP) housed various independent gaming developers under one roof to showcase their latest games and have con goers try it out first dibs, like Senshi.Labs, Psychic City Games, Team Good Knight, Ranida Games, developers from known colleges and universities and more.

When ESGS announced Riot Games as its platinum exhibitor, Filipino fans grew even more excited about the event. Entering the Philippine gaming convention scene, Riot Games pioneered their first appearance at ESGS 2022. Aside from the activities and surprises that the fans got to experience, they hosted the ESGS 2022 Riot Games Cosplay Competition where our local cosplayers got to show off their talents and skills as characters from world of VALORANT and world of Runeterra. Over P50,000 in prizes were given away to the deserving winners plus special rewards in the form of gaming chairs.


Besides Globe and Riot making waves at ESGS 2022, many other sponsors and exhibitors also made their mark at the country’s biggest gaming event. ESGS has been showcasing various established brands over the years as they bring the latest and current gaming trends entertaining and engaging their fans and patrons. Ragnarok Online, ASUS Republic of Gamers, PUBG MOBILE and Tower of Fantasy, Call of Duty: Mobile by Garena, Tier One Entertainment, JBL Quantum, MSI, Nexplay, Viewsonic, Acer, Predator, Razer Gold, MGames, Hoyoverse, Community Gaming and Scenius all got to join the ESGS hype and got to impress attendees with their latest games, products and services with lots of activities and freebies available at their booths.

ESGS attendees also got to meet their favorite gaming personalities: hosts, streamers, casters, pro players, talents, content creators, cosplayers and more over the three-day event. Riot Games had well-known personalities in the industry such as cosplayers Myrtle Sarrosa, Charess, Aryana and Kitz Cua, the voice behind Neon – Vanille Velasquez, plus well-renowned gaming and esports hosts and casters Alyza Taylor, Lykable, Asurai, Vill and Blackenblue. Tier One also surprised its fans as the latest MPL Season 10 champions, Blacklist International, were at the event along with their AMPLFY creators and some of its influencers like Tryke Gutierrez, Ashley Gosiengfiao, PindaPanda, Rojean, Seyrah, and Elie Gaming. There were also performances from Mayonnaise and other artists on stage, much to the delight of the crowd.

ESGS has never been complete without its tournaments and showmatches! Exciting and intense showmatches took place at the Astra Arena stage with Tier One, Nexplay, Rumble Royale, Tencent and Garena, as attractions for attendees plus tournaments from Gravity Game Hub and JBL Quantum were much appreciated by gamers.

Only the biggest events have the best merch, and ESGS is known to produce quality and one-of-a-kind merch that serves as a remembrance to the event patrons – most especially those who collect them all. Attendees got to partake in a lot of merch: from hoodies, stickers, shirts, tote bags and more plus exclusive discounts galore during the event days.

ESGS also showcased different merch and artist alley that will showcase fans’ favorite artists and their merch, art plus other gaming loot such as shirts, stickers, action figures and more.

Indeed, ESGS is definitely one of the best events for the gaming cosplay and community each year, and ESGS 2022 has been the biggest ever. By listening to the community and giving them the best experience possible, ESGS has managed to receive widespread acclaim and have the people keep coming back for more.
