Nothing brought the gaming industry and the gaming community together more than ever before than the very first Philippine GameDev Expo, PGDX, last August 18-20, 2023 at Function Rooms 3 and 4 of the SMX Convention Center. Exciting, engaging and extremely fascinating, PGDX, organized by CBZN and GDAP, caught the imagination of gamers from all over for an incredible experience of gaming, tech, cosplay, pop culture, hobbies, and everything in between.
The very first Philippine GameDev Expo was a veritable breakthrough in the realm of local game development industry, which has seen phenomenal growth and has gained much attention here and abroad. The event has brought to light the enormous potential and near-endless possibilities of the gaming industry and the many synergies that can happen in partnership with like-minded sectors, businesses and academia. PGDX featured B2B opportunities, workshops, panels, masterclasses, game and hardware showcases.
PGDX gave gaming enthusiasts the chance to explore an immersive world of gaming innovation, competitions, and mind-blowing experiences. With a multitude of incredible activities lined up all three days of the event, hardcore enthusiasts, casual gamers and regular con-goers alike, there was non-stop thrills and fun for everyone, whatever their fancies. Philippine GameDev Expo (PGDX) opened its doors to the gaming development community and brought the best and brightest from the field as speakers, showcasing the talent of Filipino and global developers to the world in the biggest gathering of games of the year.
Aside from being enlightening and engaging, people loved PGDX simply because it was fun. Attendees can freely browse around for wonderful merch and tech, they can try games for free, take part in games and contests, partake in fabulous freebies, meet special guests, make new connections, have pics with cosplayers, and just enjoy being a fan of games.
We at the website are of course grateful that cosplayers are very welcome at the event and that PGDX has attractions and contests for them. Their efforts go a long way to endearing PGDX to the cosplay community, and will definitely be an event that cosplayers will look forward to attending in the future.
The fun and quirky brand of art that sticks was also a part of PGDX as Sticky Expo, putting the spotlight on stickers and many other kinds fabulous art and merch. Sticky Expo had a lot of exhibitors showing off and putting their works of art on display and for sale outside the halls, where attendees got to enjoy browsing through the many artist booths.
Fun, informative, and engaging, the very first Philippine GameDev Expo had proven the incredible potential of the game development industry and the enormous support and enthusiasm of the gaming community behind it. Our congratulations and gratitude to CBZN and GDAP for making PGDX happen and for making it a fun and memorable event.
