Fans of Japanese culture and pop culture experienced a fun-filled celebration as Otaku Expo Tanabata Festival 2023 welcomed attendees from all over last August 19-20, 2023 at Megatrade Halls 1-3 of SM Megamall. Filled to the brim with a variety of spectacles, many special guests including Tomia, Sansin, Tsubasa, Charess, and Hakao, as well as many activities and attractions that fans have come to love, Otaku Expo Tanabata Festival 2023 was definitely one of the most enjoyable events of the season.
As one of Ozine Fest’s premier events which has often been held mid-year, Otaku Expo Tanabata Festival offered attendees to experience a tanabata-themed affair that involved a lot of decorations, with one of the highlights being the ever-famous Wish Tree. Writing down their wishes and hanging them up made them eligible to win prizes. Also, those wearing kimonos during the event got freebies and goodies. And as with any festival, a multitude of exhibitors, merchants, and artists and their booths were present for attendees to browse through their merch, artwork, collectibles and other fabulous items up for sale.
A particular booth of interest was that of the The Japan Foundation, Manila that was giving away their IRODORI Filipino Version books for institutions that teach Nihongo for free. For individuals, also gave away free sample lessons taken from the IRODORI Filipino version. We’re proud to have our Correspondents Raven and Xai helping out with the promotions.
Otaku Expo Tanabata Festival 2023 got to feature special guest roster of outstanding cosplayers like Tomia, Sansin, Tsubasa, Charess, and Hakao, who will had meet and greet opportunities as well as special stage appearances. Besides the guests, thrilling stage activities like the Duo Cosplay Contest, Kimono Cosplay Competition, Battle of the Bands, Singing Competition, Pet Cosplay and Photography Contests kept attendees engaged and hooked as they cheered for their favorites. Winners of the contests got to take home some really wonderful prizes. arkadymac.com is proud to have its Correspondent Yanna as one of the judges for the Duo Cosplay Contest and its cosplay model Rica as judge for the Kimono Cosplay Competition.
