Building up on the successes its phenomenal inaugural event, the Philippine Game Development Expo, PGDX, returned in full force as it redefined the gaming landscape in the country. As it continued to foster innovation and collaboration within the industry and the community, PGDX 2024 served as a crucial platform for both seasoned developers and upcoming talents as it brought these people together last July 26 to 28, 2024, at the SMX Convention Center Manila Function Rooms 3-5.
Organized by CBZN Perspective and GDAP, PGDX has caught the imagination of academics, industry, gamers and the curious alike as it delivered an incredible experience of gaming, tech, cosplay, pop culture, hobbies, and everything in between last year. At its heart, PGDX has earnestly pushed game development to the forefront, and in 2024, PGDX committed to delivering an even more dynamic and entertaining lineup of activities and exhibitors to reflect this goal.
Attendees got to partake to an expanded collection of indie game developers, each proudly showcasing their latest creations at the event. The convention catered not only to gaming enthusiasts, but also to the eager and curious interested in exploring the diverse facets of game development and associated skills and enterprises, including established studios and studios, making it an inclusive and enriching event for everyone. The Indie Game Stars featured the work of talented local and international indie game developers eager to share their work with attendees.
The engaging and exciting highlights of PGDX 2024 included workshops and panels where attendees got to learn the many fascinating aspects of game development from top industry experts. With the sheer number of invited guests at the top of the industry, PGDX provided networking opportunities for professionals and industry peers.
Gamers from all over were at PGDX 2024 flocked in droves for the games, and course, and the event did not disappoint as the Expo Floor was filled to the brim with the most fascinating exhibitors that invited attendees to explore the latest in games, technologies, gadgets, peripherals, services, and merch, offering free games, demos, samples and many freebies.
On stage, there were presentations, games, raffles, and for those with the strong passion for competitive gaming, there were exciting game tournaments which involved some of the biggest esport teams in the country.
PGDX 2024 also got to present its very own Cosplay Competition as one of the highlights so that attendees can immerse themselves in the world of creativity and expression. Participants will be bringing iconic game characters to life with their intricate costumes and passionate performances. With incredible prizes at stake, the contest was truly competitive with the auspices of a very esteemed board of judges.
And of course, arkadymac.com was there for our wonderful community of cosplayers who were at PGDX 2024, who were there as brand ambassadors, models, guests, contestants and attendees, like our website’s Correspondent Jane, who was a brand ambassador for View Sonic. They had fun having their photos taken by the crowd as well as had fun having photos with each other.
