Going strong on its third incredible year, the Philippine GameDev Expo (PGDX) 2025 was back and brought its many thousands of fans and attendees an incredible experience that highlighted the talent, creativity, culture, and connections of local communities. Spanning three incredible days from July 25 to 27, 2025, and held at the SMX Convention Center Manila, PGDX 2025 brought together game developers, game fans and cosplayers together for one of the biggest celebrations for their communities this year.
PGDX once again catches the imagination of industry, academics, gamers, cosplayers and fans alike as it successfully delivered another thrilling experience of gaming, tech, cosplay, pop culture, hobbies, and everything in between.
PGDX has earnestly pushed game development to the forefront and has pushed an even more dynamic and entertaining lineup of activities and exhibitors to reflect this goal, which included Tito and Tita retro gaming, cosplay contests, special performances, indie game stars, as well as an expansive showcase of esports tournaments, hardware showcases, and interactive experiences that cater to both enthusiasts and professionals, leveling up the gaming scene in the Philippines, bringing global and local talent together for three days of innovation, learning, and unforgettable experiences.
The engaging and exciting highlights of PGDX 2025 included workshops and panels where attendees got to learn the many fascinating aspects of game development from top industry experts. With the sheer number of invited guests at the top of the industry, PGDX provided networking opportunities for professionals and industry peers.
Gamers from all over were at PGDX 2025 flocked in droves for the games, and course, and the event did not disappoint as the Expo Floor was filled to the brim with the most fascinating exhibitors that invited attendees to explore the latest in games, technologies, gadgets, peripherals, services, and merch, offering free games, demos, samples and many freebies.
PGDX 2025 had made cosplay a highlight and mainstay of the event, and the event had amazing guest cosplayers like Akaie Ray and Myrtle. There was also its very own Cosplay Competition as one of the highlights so that attendees can immerse themselves in the world of creativity and expression. With incredible prizes at stake, the contest was truly competitive with the auspices of a very esteemed board of judges which included our Correspondent Sab, prominent cosplayers Akaie Ray, Loki Heart, AC Cosplay, Orly Dizon, .
And as its three thrilling days finally ended, PGDX 2025 once again proves that it was more than just an expo. PGDX has become one of the biggest celebrations of everything that brings the Philippine game development community and many other hobby communities together, and that is definitely no small feat. We once again commend the organizers for a job well done as we already await their future endeavors, as well as to everyone who took part in making the event a reality.
