Buko Studios and Core Works Force have launched Project K, a 15 to 30 second fan-made anime teaser created by Filipino artists as a non-commercial tribute to a classic Pinoy superhero. Presented as an unofficial fan project, Project K is a creative initiative made out of admiration for a beloved local icon and carries the creative endorsement of Direk Lore Reyes.
Released on Araw ng Kagitingan, the teaser serves as both a tribute and a mystery-driven campaign that invites audiences to guess the hero behind Project K before the official reveal. The project aims to celebrate Filipino pop culture nostalgia while showing how local artists can reinterpret iconic material through high-quality anime-inspired visuals.
The full reveal is scheduled for Sunday, April 12, 2026 at 7:00 PM during TOYCON Summer Prelude 2026 at the Crystal Pavilion Main Stage, Okada Manila. Direk Lore Reyes is expected to join the creative team for the live reveal, where attendees will get to see the teaser, hear more about the inspiration behind the project, and take part in the event experience.
