On its fifth year, Otaku Connection once again brings different fans together to showcase their talents and love for their fandoms.  Otaku Connection Episode V: Return of the Kings was held last May 19-20 at Activity Center, Glorietta Mall.  They had various booths in store for attendees and the curious alike.

First day performances include a variety of dance covers from A.L.I.C.E. Project and Kirei Ningyou as well as a song number from Project:MATERIA.  A.L.I.C.E. Project presented their different idol-based dance covers. Fans came to support and wotagei to their performances.

Project:MATERIA performed an acoustic set.
Kirei Ningyou presented dance covers of Perfume.

On the second day, Aisaku Yokogawa, along with Kuya Omurice performed song numbers, inviting fans to sing along onstage as well.

Sharlla Cerilles from the Voice Kids Season 3 sang Yeng Constatino’s “Ikaw” in a mix of Japanese and Filipino languages.

Team Oke Gakuen sang their hearts out as well, singing karaoke versions of anime songs onstage.

A cosplay skit and catwalk for Grand Order, which was a gathering of 31 cosplayers showcasing their favorite Fate characters from the manga, series, movie, or video game, was presented reasonably.

Both days had the Crystal Games Royal Cup: Cosplay Heroes, Ongaku Knights, Fanworx Conquest, Aces of Cosplay, and Duel Hearts contests.  It was entertaining to witness these segments come together in one event the whole weekend.

Tournaments courtesy of Courtside had Cardfight! Vanguard on Day 1, and Weiss Schwarz on Day 2.  The winners for their raffles, the Goldensaucer Mini Games, were announced as the last segment of the first day, and the rest of it on the second day.  Everything that you would expect in the event, based on their posters, happened. A gathering for fans, made possible by fans, that is OtaCon.
