Fresh from his painfully painful training in the deepest, darkest jungles of Bulacan, Xtian Mack is proud to present this special coverage of the Philippine Cosplay Convention at Robinson’s Place Manila Midtown Atrium over the weekend.  He even competed with the big names of the cosplay circuit with…entertaining results, but more on that later.

Hundreds of cosplayers converged at the convention site donning an amazing variety of unique costumes of different themes and genres.  They range from a cute three-foot chibi Gohan to a massive 16-foot Optimus Prime, to an assortment of anything and everything in between.  Organized by Cosplay.ph, cosplayers and mall-goers alike were able to enjoy the event because it was free to attend, something everyone in the community was grateful for.

All in all it was an amazing event with no untoward incidents happening. Our congratulations to Cosplay.ph for an event that helped make cosplay known to more and more people.

We will update this post throughout the week because our staff, outnumbered and overworked as they are (all two of them), need to do other things like, well, work they get paid for to pay bills.  We’ll just post some of the great photos we have taken at the event.  Please visit regularly as we’ll do daily updates.

Many thanks to Brymac for being the lead photographer.  Many thanks too to the folks who were kind enough to use the camera in my place:  Justine, John Paul, Kyo and Shiira.  Special thanks to Jamie and the rest of ANBU Cosplayers PH.
