Upcoming Event: FANDOM FEST Cosplay Competition at MIBF


The Manila International Book Fair or MIBF has been one of the biggest and the longest running fairs in the country, with about 120,000 visitors over the five-day event.  This year the organizers will be holding its first-ever FANDOM FEST Cosplay Competition, making it one of the major highlights of the children’s section in the Book Fair. FANDOM FEST  will cater to the many western geek culture and fandoms in the country.  The event aims foster camaraderie among different fandoms and share their interests and knowledge with others. It will be held at the Stage Area, Function Room 1, on Sept. 16 for the Pinoy Cosplay, and Sept. 17 for the Western Cosplay.

Loving Rainbow Garden Cosplay Festival



With cosplay and anime events being churned out endlessly but with the same old content, it is encouraging to know that there are still those from the community who are willing to step up and offer something more relevant and closer to the heart of those who have long nurtured the passion for cosplay.  Far from the usual mall venues where events have become all so common, Loving Rainbow Garden Cosplay Festival took a bold move in having a new but refreshing  venue to accommodate those who had so much passion for cosplay and anime.  The result was a fun new event that left everyone happy, fulfilled and pleasantly surprised.


Cyberzone Cosplay Craze @ SM City Sucat: Bringing Cosplay Closer to You



Already nine months since it started this year, the Cyberzone Cosplay Craze series got to make its last stop down south of the Metro at SM City Sucat where lots of cosplayers and spectators came by to have great time. Cyberzone Cosplay Craze is a fun and innovative revolution on how cosplay events are done, and it has been happening this year, not just in Manila, but all throughout the country. Sponsored by SM Cyberzone and organized by cosplay.ph, Cosplay Craze has been bringing absolutely free events closer to where the cosplayers are, offering huge prizes and giveaways that even major events can’t match. But most of all, it has given cosplayers a reason to meet up with others like them within their communities and have an enjoyable, non-cramped, stress-free afternoon of cosplay fun.

Upcoming Event: Invitational/Open Photoshoot IOP X3 at Chinese Garden, Luneta




With its inception in January 2013, IOP, or the Invitational/Open Photoshoot revolutionized local community cosplay events as the monthly affair drew in avid cosplayers, photographers and enthusiasts from all over to share and celebrate their passion, art and hobby with others.  organized by student organization Otaku Urule, IOP has had a good run through all 12 months of 2013, in varied locations, featuring a variety of themes, all the while striving for innovation and creativity among the community.  Many outstanding and prominent cosplayers and photographers are proud to admit that their skills and talents have been honed by attending the IOP series.

A celebration of the many interesting hobbies people just cant get enough of, Collecticon will be on its eighth straight year of showcasing the best of collectibles, toys and comics, with fun attractions and side events added in this two-day affair.  Brought together by Hobbiworx and PinoyToyKolektor,  Collecticon 2015 will run from September 26-27, 2015 at Megatrade Hall 3 of SM Megamall.  With lots of exhibitors of all manner of hobbies slated to show off their best and latest products and creations, it’s an event worth dropping by for.  arkadymac.com is a media partner for Collecticon 2015, and we will be doing coverage of the event.

Taiwan’s outstanding cosplayers Neneko and Sameki gave their ardent Filipino fans a weekend to remember and cherish as they featured in cosplay.ph’s Meet & Greet Madness.  It was Sameki’s first visit to the country and Neneko her third, and they were warmly welcomed by their followers who have long been waiting for this rare opportunity to see them live and up close.
