Cosplay as fashion? The organizers of Animetics at My View 2014 Philippine Fashion Wear think so as it became part of the program aimed to share the latest in fashion to the public. Held at Market Market last weekend, Animetics featured cosplayers at their best in front of an appreciative crowd.
As one of the highlights of the event that featured fashion shows, catwalks, booths, fabulous models and other special guests performing for the My View 2014 Philippine Fashion Wear, Animetics delighted the audience with the skills and talents of many cosplayers on and off the stage.
There was then the individual cosplay competition where 36 participants in different categories vied for great prizes. In the end, Don Robert won Best Male as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Angela for best female with a character from Monster Hunter, Ashley Misaki for Best Chibi as Uchiha Sasuke of Naruto, special choice given to Izaiah Luke Buelos as Atom of Real Steel, and David D’Angelo as Master Pogi/Mr. Satan of Dragon Ball. My View was very generous in their prizes, giving away tablets and a 32-inch TV to the winners.
There were photoshoots in and around the venue and cosplayers and photographers alike took advantage of the unique experience to shoot at the venue’s plush environs.
It was a fun and exciting day for everyone, and the organizers, impressed by the style and skills of the cosplayers, promised to hold another such event in the future. We look forward to it of course as we did have an enjoyable time at Animetics.
