arkadymac.com was an official media partner for the Otakuzine Anime Magazine Launch Party last November 30, 2014 at the Mall of Asia SMX Function Room 1. Hundreds of people got to attend the event that promised lots of fun for everyone, with long lines since opening.
Lots of fun activities for everyone to enjoy were lined up for the day, with games, cosplay, karaoke, booths, game and card tournaments, and other attractions that will make everyone’s otaku experience a memorable one.
Highlighting the Otakuzine Anime Magazine Launch Party was special guest cosplayer Misa from Taiwan. She is known all over the world for her spectacular cosplays, and she got to visit the Philippines for the second time for a special appearance. There was a press conference for her at Meeting Room 2 of the SMX with members of the local Otaku media, who were eager to as Misa lots of questions. She was then cosplaying Silica, a character from the manga and anime Sword Art Online. For more info and photos of her at the press conference, click here.
The Otakuzine Anime Magazine Launch Party was particularly enjoyable for us because we got to see and meet some of our Cosplay Models again. arkadymac.com’s Cosplay Models are the wonderful cosplayers who we have featured on our website, and we are happy to get to call each other friends as well.
We saw our Cosplay Model Mina Kim helping promote our friends at the Perry in Disguise booth. She was quite popular and people lined up for the chance to have their photos taken with her.
Our friend Sean wanted to be first of course, though he pretended not to be that excited.
Our coverage partner Jillian was there for a while to help us out with the reporting. We’re always glad that she can attend events with us and do the rounds and still have fun.
Our Cosplay Model Kyle was there as Touka Rabbit version from Tokyo Ghoul. She was quite popular with photographers and attendees alike. We’ll be having another feature on her soon, so we hope you’ll watch out for it.
Our Cosplay Model Nicolette was also there having fun and enjoying having her photos taken by the crowd.
We spotted Gaby too. She was enjoying the event with friends.
Czyrah has been one of our very first Cosplay Models, and we were glad to see her there as a photographer. We are hoping that we’ll get to do a collaboration with her really soon.
Events are fun because these present the rare occasion when we get to see our friends again and catch up on what’s been going on with each other. I’m sure any cosplayer can relate, and that’s why we get to enjoy ourselves as much as we can: chatting, posing for others, posing with others, selfies with each other, spazzing over each other’s characters, role playing, the small, strange, simple things that make us happy and glad we got to meet each other through cosplay.
