Cosplay is an art that requires a myriad of skills to hone and master, with makeup and wig styling as a couple of the most important.  Some cosplayers just make it look easy, while some need to spend to have someone else do those for them.  Thankfully cosplayer Vina Miyazaki and our photographer and meganekko Kami-kun decided to hold a class instead of just doing one-on-one sessions. Despite the difficulties of organizing a class for the very first time, Vina and Kami’s efforts got enough people to attend class at What the Tea place in Banawe, Quezon City.

The room allotted to us had horribly weak lighting, so please excuse the makeshift lights and dreary photos/videos. The video is sort of the ‘extended cut’ as we didn’t remove much and is more or less just a compilation of clips. This is also the first time we’ve used and incorporated video from a camcorder.

The attendees had fun while learning new techniques and tips for use in their cosplay. The food and drinks were also good which kept most of us receptive to the lessons.

First lesson was general makeup.

Second lesson was focused on the eyes (brow, lids).

Last part was wig styling and trimming.

After the lesson, Vina raffled off some makeup and one of her posters.

Congratulations to Vina and Kami for a wonderful class despite it being their first.  We’d like to thank them for the invite and letting arkadymac.com cover the class for our readers.
