Our friends from the Kawaii PH community got to celebrate the holidays together in style at their Winter Wonderland Year End Party just recently. With many exciting events which include a successful book launching earlier this year, 2015 has been a great year for Kawaii lovers and enthusiasts, and they have decided to close it off properly with a fun year-end party with everyone.
We got to meet our friend Wynona for our coverage. She had always been a staunch advocate of Kawaii, and she and her friends got to show others a great time then.
Staple and Perk Bakery at the Ecoplaza Building in Makati proved to be a cozy, fitting venue for Kawaii Philippines’ Winter Wonderland Year End Party. Its chic but homey interior set that special cheerful holiday mood for everyone, and their delectable treats were very much appreciated by the guests.
Trademark cuteness welcomed guests right at the door with personalized tags upon registration.
A spot was reserved for enticing presents for the exchange gift session later on.
A message board had guests leave their thoughts through their own special and creative way about spending the holidays with everyone in the community.
Guests got to partake in Staple and Perk’s specialties as they shared stories and caught up with each others adventures since the last event, each eagerly waiting for the program to start.
The program started in earnest later that afternoon with warm greetings from the Kawaii PH staff. They remarked how great it was to see many familiar faces as well as new ones, as well as how supportive everyone has been this year. The community was well and thriving and that was reason enough to celebrate with a party that day.
There were exciting games in store for the attendees, like charades, bring me, raffles, and a paper dance that had everyone involved and joining in the fun. Winners got to take home some nice prizes too.
Great performers were there to keep the attendees excited that fine afternoon.
The heart of the party lay with the attendees of course, and dressing up for the party was as much fun as with everything else about Christmas. Guests were invited to come according to themes like “Wonderland” (Kawaii + snow, sparkle, white, snowflake, icy blue) and “Merry and Bright” (Kawaii + red&green, gold, tinsel, warm, home). Guests were more than happy to oblige as they came in their own adorable and creative ensembles.
Beyond the games and gifts and pretty outfits, the Kawaii community has never forgotten about the true spirit of Christmas as they have worked together to give smiles to people who need it the most. This year they tied up with Play, Learn and Serve Children’s program and had everyone in the community give what they could and got together school supplies, books and much-needed toiletries besides other gifts that the children have already recieved and sent their thanks for.
It was a simple yet meaningful event for everyone who came, and for me personally, it was a good example of how a community brimming with creativity and individuality can just gather, take it easy, revel in comment interests, appreciate differences, and even get to work together for a common cause. Many thanks to Kawaii PH for having us as their media partner, and we hope to see more worthwhile events in the future.
