As the last major event on the local cosplay and Japanese pop culture calendar, Ozine Fest Anime Figure Special holds particular significance to cosplayers, collectors, enthusiasts and congoers everywhere as an affair to wrap up a busy year with friends and to indulge in the myriad hobbies and interests that make their lives fun and interesting.
arkadymac.com is an official media for Ozine Fest Anime Figure Special 2015, and our team was there to cover the festivities. Joining us on our coverage were our photographers Mitch and Jillian, along with our Cosplay Models Kaloy, Nicolette, Yanna and Irene, who got to enjoy the festivities as well.
Headlining the affair were special international guest cosplayers Misa and Chihiro, who had several meet and greet sessions. Later in the afternoon, attendees got to see them for an autograph signing session with fans.
As the event name implies, anime figures from a wide variety of fandoms and makers take the spotlight as exhibitors and collectors got to put on display their best and latest for the public to see and enjoy.
Team Onii-chan! had a workshop on customizing figures, and it was well appreciated by fellow collectors and enthusiasts.
There were also trivia games, art contests, screenings, and tarp auctions that the audience got to enjoy all throughout the day.
Winners of the art contests were also announced later that day and their marvelous work were shown to the attendees.
The Ozine Maid Cafe has been a mainstay of the event and patrons from all over don’t miss the chance to drop by and enjoy the wonderful refreshments and service at the cafe.
A special section was set aside for collectible card games where players got to enjoy some rounds.
Of course, the trip to Ozine will never be complete without checking out the many merchant booths of all sorts that offered a variety of items and merchandise catering to a wide variety of interests, hobbies and niches.
We were pleasantly surprised to see the Cosplay Medics booth for the first time by Alecx and her friends. They perform an invaluable service by extending their assistance to cosplayers who are in trouble with their wigs, props, costumes and makeup.
We were there of course for the cosplayers who have come to celebrate the holidays, buy their favorite merch, meet up with friends and just enjoy what the event had to offer. As with everyone who chanced upon them at the venue, we enjoyed taking photos of them and appreciated the dedication and hard work they put into showing their love for their chosen characters.
