It was the second exciting day for the biggest and most celebrated event of the year for anime fans, Japanese music lovers, and cosplay enthusiasts.  Animax Carnival Philippines 2016, Animax channel’s on-ground signature event, opened its doors to the excited public for Day 2 of this weekend-long event running from October 15-16, 2016 at Halls 1 and 2 of the SMX Convention Center. Already on its fifth year, Animax Carnival Philippines 2016 was bigger and better than ever, offering a variety of interactive games and fun-filled activities with exciting prizes for all ages.

arkadymac.com is Animax Carnival’s media partner again this year, and we will be bringing you the highlights through our special coverage of both days. Covering the event was our Correspondent and Cosplay Model Nicole, our Editor-in-Chief Jillian, along with our photographers Mitch, Kami, Nicki and Kazumi, our cosplay models  Sage, Irene and Vanessa, as the team was in full force in taking part of the festivities.

As expected from this annually anticipated event, Animax Carnival was filled with lots of interactive games, fascinating features and fun-filled activities with exciting prizes for all ages.  For our coverage of these attractions, please do visit our coverage of Day 1 by clicking here.

Ookun is Animax’s lovable blue raccoon mascot, and he was everywhere at the event to liven up the festivities.  People can’t get enough of him and were particularly engrossed in getting their own cute Ookun merchandise at Ookun Merch Shop.

Attendees also got the chance to experience a wonderful maid cafe at no extra cost, and guests were treated to wonderful treats and games by the cafe’s excellent maids and butlers.

Various workshops like crafting and photography kept attendees fascinated and pleasantly informed about these hobbies as well.

The Entertainment Winter hall is where all of action happened with hosts Rhianna Floresca and Eri Neeman. Exclusive interviews with special guests Ami Wajima and May’n, were held. They also held an autograph signing so they could meet and take pictures with their fans.  And in the evening, their much-awaited performances were something that fans would be talking about for the months to come.

The Animax Edo Showdown Cosplay Competition was held, where teams of two got to show off their stylized cosplays and performed their best skits for huge prizes. A formidable panel of judges which included prominent cosplayer Jin Joson, Network Executive Georgette Tenco, and Monique Dimanlig had the difficult task of assessing who among them deserved to be named the champions for this year.

The winners were announced later on, naming the team of Ashley Misaki and Izaiah Luke Buelos winners of Third Place, the team of Kenkoy and partner in Second Place, and Team Guy Singzon capturing the Championship, winning a whopping 25,0000 among other great prizes.

We were there for the cosplayers of course, and they came out in full force to have a great time at the event, having pictures with themselves and with everyone.

With lots of activities and attractions from start to finish, everyone at the event went home with a smile on their face and lots of freebies.  We in the team continue to agree that Animax Carnival has kept its promise of an enjoyable and memorable weekend for everyone who loves anime and Japanese pop culture.  We at  arkadymac are glad to have gotten an opportunity to cover this amazing activity-filled event.

Many thanks to everyone at Animax for all the planning and effort that went into making Animax Carnival a huge success, as we are already excited about what they’re planning next for 2017.
