Since the event debuted in 2016, it was already evident that there was something special about Cosplay Matsuri. From the amazing Japanese bridge to the creative activities like Sumo Skirmish and the Charms Wall to the Dokuen Solo Cosplay, Doujin Group Cosplay and Anisong It Singing Contest, Cosplay Matsuri was an incredible year-end celebration.
It is not surprising that on its third year, the event has tripled in size, encompassing three Function Rooms at the SMX Convention Center Manila,one of the top convention venues in the country. Not only that, but the ambiance has improved as well, adding Japanese elements like the towering Torii Gates to the whimsical Japanese lanterns strewn throughout the venue.
Of course, the variety of anime goods increased as well with unbelievable deals available to all as merchants race to cleartheir stock for the coming year. If that was not enough, the Cosplay Auction with deals starting at just 1 peso provided some amazing finds with the Storage Wars and Mystery Box segments adding some surprising variety and some intriguing twists.
This year, the event even upped the game by bringing in International Cosplay Guests Hisui from Hong Kong, Diane from Cebu City as well as Kimina and Kiyorami from Japanin partnership with One Final Dream. Japanese Dance Cover group Seishun Kakumei will also be entertaining the event attendees.
Whether you are a hardcore otaku or a casual fan, Cosplay Matsuri 2018 offers a plethora of fun activities, colorful entertainment and a treasure trove of merchandise at bargain prices. It is the must-see event of the season to bring your friends and family to celebrate the end of another fantastic year.
