Organizers of the event started by saying that IMAX 3D  was the only/best venue to experience the clips, thus the early time before the scheduled movies.

The preview opened with James Cameron talking about his long time love for Alita, why he couldn’t find time to direct it himself, and his journey to bring her to the big screen. Director Robert Rodriguez then talked about challenges of bringing their vision to life.

The sneak peek of Alita Battle Angel featured a hefty amount of footage spaced throughout the movie. Some of them showed what the trailer lacked, Alita being just a girl who’s lost in her journey in life, love and her dark past.

Of most/all of the 3D movies I’ve watched so far, the rendering and camera movements they used here were smooth and immersive. Unlike others where I left the cinema hating the 3D or wondering why they bothered, Alita will probably be worth seeing in the best format.

**** Spoiler-ish list of clips ****

We would like to thank the following for the invite: Thoughtful PH, Box Five productions, Liui Aquino, IMAX and the producers.

Aside: Here’s something I made back in November of 1997 (MTG is still strong and Alita is coming back) *art is probably from the manga*
