With its unprecedented growth and success over five outstanding years, Esports and Gaming Summit, ESGS, came back to thrill, educate, entertain and excite attendees from all over the world last October 25 to 27, 2019 at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City. Premiere Event Organizer Gariath Concepts brought back the biggest gaming event in the Philippines. Gamers, cosplayers, hobbyists, and technophiles from all over got to gather once again to celebrate gaming in the most epic way possible. arkadymac.com has been ESGS’s media partner since 2014, and we’re bringing you the highlights of this enormous event.

ESGS brought a new tradition this year with a yearly theme to provide fans a refreshing visual experience. Cyberpunk was this year’s theme, giving attendees a thrilling futuristic adventure, with hologram effects and the introduction of Astra, the official event persona of ESGS.

Major sponsors PLDT Home Fibr and Smart introduced the PLDT-Smart Cyber City, a huge gaming zone that gave attendees the chance to experience the hottest Virtual Reality games including Sniper Elite and Beat Saber to win exciting swags.

In between the matches and the shows, subscribers could head to the PLDT-Smart Cybercity to lounge around, recharge their devices, print photo souvenirs with friends, and bump into their favorite cosplayers and esports athlete.

ESGS has grown into an extensively massive event through its long-time brand partners who continue to support it, with new brands are making their debut as well. Major hardware exhibitors included Asus Republic of Gamers, MSI, Predator, Legion by Lenovo, HyperX, Corsair, ViewSonic, Gamdias, XPG, Steelseries, Powercolor, Bloody, JBL. They got to showcase their latest line of products aimed at gamers, and they got to have event-exclusive sales and promos.

ESGS has become the haven of all sorts of gamers through the years, and the hype continued with the newest game releases. Game Publishers won’t be leaving themselves behind as Capcom, Ranida Games, Gumi, Boomzap, Ourpalm/GameNow, Kojima Productions and Nintendo Switch (by Maxsoft) went all out to showcase their latest games and merchandise for everyone to experience. Of note was the first time that Nintendo joined a gaming convention in Southeast Asia, showcasing their Switch offerings.

Playbook got to host the Mountain Dew Fighting Game Arena which featured exciting fighting game action. The SIBOL Philippine team got to have a series of exhibition matches on the main stage for the entire weekend. Mobile games retained their home via the Mobile Esports Arena and their lineup of activities and tournaments. To complete the best Philippine esports action, teams from The Nationals made an appearance via different booths and activities all throughout the weekend.

arkadymac.com has always loved ESGS for their unending and generous support for cosplayers, and this year’s Cosplay Competition had them compete in their best gaming character cosplays. And of course, we were there for the cosplayers, who were at the event in droves, as attendees and as brand ambassadors for the various exhibits, among them was our Correspondent Keileen.

And with special guests and surprises spread over three days, ESGS continued to be the biggest Gaming Conventions in Southeast Asia, continuing to grow and provide the best gaming experience in the Philippines in both esports and gaming from different platforms.
