One of the biggest anime and cosplay events in the country is back and its community of fans and loyal attendees was one again enjoying the attractions, entertainment and fabulous contests that Ozine Fest has been known for. Ozine Fest has always been an annual celebration for fans of anime and cosplay from all over the country. While the last Ozine Fest happened in 2019, it now makes its return in 2022 with Mini Ozine Fest , which happened last June 25 to 26, 2022 at Megatrade Hall 1 of SM Megamall, and delivered on a promise of bringing back the fun attractions and activities that attendees have come to love over the years.
arkadymac.com has always been Ozine Fest’s media partner since 2014, so we were happy we get to do coverage again. Helping us cover and and bring the highlights of the event was our Correspondent Ahmu, who got to enjoy the event cosplaying as well. The live return of Ozine was an irresistible treat to all the cosplayers and con-goers who have missed the event for years.
Always keeping everyone in the event lively and engaged are the various stage activities and contests, such as the much-awaited return of the Battle of the Bands and the Anime Singing Contest. The contestants showed their incredible talents on stage and the audience showed their appreciation and even sang along.
In-between segments, the audience got a treat with the characteristically quirky and infinitely entertaining eating contests which got to see brave and admittedly hungry contestants out-eat each other with whichever challenge was put on the table, be it Fuwa Fuwa buns of spicy noodles.
One of the highlights of the event was the Cosplay Competition, where arkadymac.com’s Cosplay Model Jane Yu was the one of the special guest judges, alongside prominent cosplayer Katiecakey and Sharivan Spark. Contestants got to show off their wonderful cosplays and show off their skills in incredible performances on stage which turned out to be one of the most entertaining contests in years.
The awarding happened later in the program where those who excelled in the contests got to reap the rewards of their hard work and skill, including the V Cosplay Contest, Voice Acting and Drawing Contests. They got to take home really wonderful prizes from the organizer and sponsors.
Of course, the trip to Mini Ozine Fest will never be complete without checking out the many merchant artist booths of all sorts that offered a variety of items and merchandise catering to a wide variety of interests, hobbies and niches, like our good friends at T-Tees, Genki Shoppu and Perry in Disguise.
Mini Ozine Fest has been a fun and memorable joyous event for attendees who got to indulge in their hobbies after the long pandemic. They again found a place and time to get together and celebrate their love for their many varied fandoms. Congratulations and gratitude to all of the hosts and organizers. Looking forward to their next event at Otaku Expo Tanabata Festival 2022 on August 20-21, with Special Guests Hanari and Toto.
