It was a day dedicated to fandoms as Cosplay Unite held its first-ever event, VictoryCon 2023: Cosplay, Airsoft, and More, last February 18, 2023 at Victory Central Mall in Caloocan. As one of those rare cosplay events held north of the Metro, VictoryCon 2023, with its enjoyable variety of contests, performances, cosplay, games, music, hobbies, exhibitors and special guests, was definitely a fun community event.
We at the website appreciate fandom events of all kinds, moreso events that have the community engaged and involved. VictoryCon 2023: Cosplay, Airsoft, and More is such a community event, organized by Cosplay Unite in association with Victory Central Mall Caloocan and Shīkuretto Agency.
The fandoms always demand their favorite merch, and VictoryCon had a generous amount of those with its variety of exhibitors and booths, selling artwork, toys, figures, accessories, trinkets, collectibles, and a whole lot more.
Stage activities hosted by Mayumi Shirai and arkadymac.com’s Correspondent Anmu featured a wonderful variety of fun and engaging attractions like performances from Re: ANIMUS.
The hosts also got to present more attractions in the form of contests like the Singing Contest, the Cosplay Competition, and the Sexy Cosplay Catwalk. Participants got to display their skills and talents to the cheers and appreciation of a very supportive audience, and to the discerning criteria of the judges, as well as the participation of special cosplayer guests like who are known well in the community like Nixiedooodle and Lia Bear.
Airsoft got to provide an enjoyable challenge for enthusiasts as well as an interesting diversion for the curious.
With all these, VictoryCon 2023: Cosplay, Airsoft, and More got to be an interesting alternative event that, while not without flaws and shortcomings, still proved to be a cozy enough gathering for a receptive and inclusive community.
