Exceeding its wildest expectations, SPICE Anime and Cosplay EroCon got to blaze a scorching new trail in the cosplay community as the biggest and spiciest ero event in the country to date. Featuring the hottest in mature-themed exhibits, merch, attractions, and special guests from here and abroad, SPICE was a delight to the senses that made it a successful and memorable inaugural event.
As an 18+ convention, SPICE piqued the community’s fascination with intriguing promotions and teasers popping up on social media since last year. SPICE Anime and Cosplay EroCon has built up momentum and has become the most awaited erocon in Metro Manila, finally opening its doors last February 16, 2025 at Bayanihan Center, Pasig City.
Entrance by attendees was kept orderly and quick notwithstanding the excitement built up around the event. The venue was cozy and easy to navigate and was delightfully filled with an impressive roster of booths with a fascinating selection of merch and art, with lots of unique finds that one definitely cannot get anywhere else. Attendees appreciated the welcome change as they browsed through merch from more niche fandoms.
SPICE had a sensational list of special guests like TangTang, Meenfox, Lia Bear, Dishwasher1910, Kael Pk, Aire, Sowon and Maria Nagai, making the it a one-of-a-kind, one-day-only event that attendees will not soon forget. Along with an equally captivating collection of boothers and exhibitors, attendees got to experience unique interactions that you can only be possible in this kind of event. Fans were ecstatic to be able to see their idols in person, but at the same time they were shy and hesitant to approach the guest. They were then surprised to discover that the guests and boothers were very welcoming which helped break the ice. Unique stage segments which included tutorials, showcases and catwalk were met with delight and huge hype from a supportive crowd, adding much to the excitement of the event.
Notwithstanding preconceptions, SPICE Anime and Cosplay EroCon was overall a fun, safe, and memorable event that left attendees clamoring for more. While the organizers have said that SPICE would most likely be their only event for the year, they are open to the possibility of SPICE returning next year, and we will of course be looking forward to it.
