The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is excited to announce a new era of collegiate competition as it officially launches its Esports Kick-off, starting this June 28 until July 25. All 10 schools will be taking part to compete for the championship in the esports title Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.

Melchor Divina, Event Chairman for Esports of the NCAA Philippines committee “As we launch this year’s NCAA Esports Tournament, we’re not just starting a competition — we’re igniting a movement that recognizes the talent, drive, and potential of college gamers across the nation through esports. In this era, the esports scene is more than just a game — it’s an avenue for skill development, leadership, collaboration, and career pathways in the continuous growth of the digital space”

The tournament consists of two phases. First is the round robin phase where the teams are divided into two groups and battle against each other for a top 3 slot in their group. For the Top 3 teams, they proceed to the Playoffs, held at the Philippine Game Dev Expo on July 25 – 27 to compete in a modified gauntlet double elimination format until a champion is crowned.

It has also been officially announced that a full season of the Esports Competition will be featured as part of NCAA Season 101, set to take place in December 2025.

The upcoming esports season will showcase two of the most popular and competitive titles in the scene today—Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and Valorant— marking a significant step forward for collegiate esports as the NCAA continues to widen its scope beyond traditional sports.

The Esports Tournament of NCAA is organized in partnership with the Collegiate Center for Esports.
