On its second straight day, TAGCOM continued to bring its loyal attendees to the best of toys, hobbies, games, comics and collectibles the season had to offer. Coupled with activities, games, contests, special guests and surprises for a great many fandoms, Megatrade Hall 3 of SM Megamall was bustling with excitement and activity for everyone involved. arkadymac.com is an official media partner for the event and we are glad to bring you the highlights this year’s TAGCOM had to offer.
Already a decade of existence in bringing delight to collectors, hobbyists and enthusiasts in the Philippines and beyond, Hobby@Worx proudly presented the 10th TAGCOM Toys and Hobbies Convention last April 16-17, 2016 at Megatrade Hall 3 of SM Megamall. As an annually anticipated event, TAGCOM was a two-day festivity and gathering of collectors and toy enthusiasts, all sharing their passions to the hilt.
There were lots of on-stage attractions that kept the audience excited all day long, like the anime singing contest.
There was also a flashy Star Wars themed performance by Fightsaber Philippines.
Special dance performances from Raindrop, IVy! Musume and Borealis kept the audience grooving to their beats.
The highlight of the day was the Cosplay Competition, where prominent international cosplayers Hana & Baozi made a special appearance. The couple were in the country to bring a series of fan meets, organized and handled by CosMerch PH, partnering up with TAGCOM for their guesting at the event. Fans from far and wide attended the event for a chance to see and meet their beloved idols. Along with local cosplayer Aien and Hiro from Japan, they got to judge the cosplay competition, where talented contestants in their spectacular costumes got to show off their talent in exciting performances in front of the crowd.
Hana and Baozi got to have some time on stage to address their fans.
The winners eventually got chosen, including Izaiah Luke Buelos as Best Male, and got to go home with some great prizes from the organizers and sponsors.
Organizer’s Choice Cosplayers were also named, and got to receive some nice gifts from the sponsors.
Wanlu and his puppets then took the stage. His skill in puppetry and ventriloquism had everyone entertained.
Mobile entertainment platform and social networking app migme was there to promote their services, and they have acquired the help of prominent cosplayers like our friend Dinny Grayson to spread the word.
All throughout the day, cosplayers can be seen in and around the event, having fun while having their photos taken by attendees and mall patrons, as well as having shots with each other.
With these and more, TAGCOM was a hit with so many fandoms that weekend, and thumbs up to Hobby@Worx for bringing this event to everyone, and congratulations for staying strong on their 10th year.
Thank you for dropping by, and please stay tuned as we are working on a separate article for photos of cosplayers at the 10th TAGCOM: Day 2.
