One of the most memorable days happened last June 23, 2018. For 10 years, fans of SCANDAL (スキャンダル), an all-female Japanese rock band from Osaka, finally grace the Philippines. Fans waited for this day for them to come and the wait was worth it indeed.
As early as, 10am fans are waiting at the Ninoy International Airport for the arrival of the band, with banners and flowers in hand, they patiently waited for their arrival. While some fans are waiting in the airport, some are already falling in-line at the World Trade Center for the once in a lifetime meet and greet session of SCANDAL (スキャンダル). Emperor pass and Meet&Greet pass holders are the only ones who can meet them up close and personal. And have a couple of hours to fully know them.
The Fan meet starts at 5pm. Ticket holders entered the halls at 4pm and patiently waited for them to arrive. While waiting, the organizers have set up the merchandise that are for sale for this special event. From shirts to pamphlets are among the choices.
While waiting, the host was entertaining the attendees, some are asked what are their favourite song of the band. Who do you like among the band members and why. Everyone was excited and nervous at the same time. There was one who even sang “Shunkan sentimental“, which we had a feeling SCANDAL (スキャンダル) heard him singing.
The long wait is over, they have finally arrived, attendees are shouting and cheering their names when they entered. They greeted us with a smile. The most cheerful smile we all have seen in our entire lives. The atmosphere was overwhelming. And thus the fan meet begins.
With the limited time that was given, they didn’t went around and went into the question and answer portion. Media present was given the change to ask questions but the focus of the fan meet is for the fans that are present. Each question really made SCANDAL (スキャンダル) think, it’s quite amazing the answers they have given which gave more info with regards to them and what more to expect.
After the question and answer portion, attendees were given the chance to have a photo-op with them. Regular fan meet holders are to line up by 20s to have a photo with them, while the emperor pass where given to chance to have their ids signed and have a photo-op with them one by one.
Everyone went out with a smile for they have a poster which is signed by the band members aside from the merchandise they have bought there.
The 24th is the day they all have been waiting for. The performance of SCANDAL (スキャンダル) on stage. Singing their latest album “Honey”. With thousands of fans are expected to attend this once in a lifetime concert.
