Diversity couldn’t be as evident, or as lovely, as Lolita Fashion, which figures prominently in modern Japanese lifestyle but its appeal has since spread over the world and has reached the Philippines. Fans of course want to express their passion through the Lolita Fashion Contest that started early that afternoon. Contestants, dressed in their best Lolita-inspired outfits, took to the catwalk and put on a good show for the audience. After the catwalk, there was a question and answer portion as to let people know more about themselves and their love for Lolita Fashion. Later on, the winners were announced and wonderful prizes were awarded.
As Lolita Fashion has reached our shores and gained a devoted following, designers here in the Philippines have been inspired to made their own lines and have made amazing world-class creations. Their lines were put under the spotlight that afternoon at MATA Expo. This unique show featured fashion lines Dorotee Sweetlips, Dolldelight , Dolly Kaye and La Princesse Tea Doll. It was a feast for the senses as one by one, enchanting doll-like models took to the catwalk in exquisite Lolita creations crafted by the most dynamic designers in the country. All were enthralled by the delightful spectacle put on stage.

After the show, the models were gracious in having photos with the attendees, and how the people loved them! We took the opportunity to do shoots with them as well, and it was a most pleasant experience as it wasn’t every day we get the chance to take photos of such wonderful people donning remarkable outfits that are veritably works of art.
Our team and everyone else who came had so much fun and enjoyed the event thanks to the very thorough and thoughtful efforts of the designers and organizers. Thanks also to our friends among the models and contestants: Mayu, Sillykonpeito, Miyumi, Vanessa, Ding, Wynona, Razel, Lin Ling, Mina, Eiri, Chelsea, PinkBarbieDoll, and some others too beautiful I temporarily forgot their names. Thanks also to our photographer friends Pef, Bernard, Kuro, and Marvin, and to our many cosplayer friends at the event. They had lots of fun too.
